Microgrids and the Transition to Distributed Energy
October 8–10th, 2018
Join us! Agave Systems will be a sponsor of the 6th Annual HOMER International Microgrid Conference and Exhibition at the beautiful Paradise Point Resort in San Diego, California. Presented by Distributed Energy.
HIMC is the leading forum for industry leaders and policymakers in this emerging market to come together and share successes, technologies, financial models, and develop goals and policy objectives to drive the industry forward.
A pre-conference private tour will give attendees an intimate view of the UCSD microgrid project, an advanced energy network that provides electricity for the university’s 450-hectare campus.
Two days of conference activities offer a strong focus on solving practical challenges through real-world examples presented by leading figures in the microgrid and distributed energy industry. Between presentations, networking breaks on San Diego’s Mission Bay offer an amazing setting to engage with peers and build valuable relationships.
An optional third day of hands-on training with the HOMER Grid and HOMER Pro software platforms can help you model your next microgrid project, develop your demand management strategy, and get training you need to deploy more projects and land more deals.
Contact Agave Systems if you’d like to pre-schedule a meeting during the show.
Since its first incarnation in 1978, the Viterbi Awards has been a significant annual event for the School. It has become USC’s forum for recognizing outstanding members of the engineering community and those USC alumni who have made lasting contributions to science and engineering in all its manifestations.
We are extremely proud to be affiliated as a sponsor for this annual event and other programs which support the university’s programs in developing heroic engineers that are making a positive difference in the world we live in today and tomorrow.
The Regatta Solutions team along with a number of Clients met with California Assemblyman Adrin Nazarian this last Friday at Capstone Turbine’s facility. Leading the meeting was Capstone’s CEO Darren Jaminson. We all were there to collectively support the legislative efforts of Assmblyman Nazarian with Assembly Bill 36 (AB36).
AB 36 is critical to furthering California’s pursuit of a clean energy future and ensuring that all advanced distributed generation (DG) technologies capable of meeting the state’s stringent environmental standards are allowed to compete on a level playing field.
Regatta Solutions and Capstone Turbine support the California Clean Distributed Energy Coalition. This coalition is highly supportive of public policies that promote clean energy and technological innovation and we are committed to assisting California in the pursuit of its ambitious clean energy goals. California’s overall energy demand is expected to double by 2050 concurrent with substantial increases in renewable energy penetration. This rapid growth reinforces the importance of deploying affordable, innovative and clean energy generation technologies capable of facilitating renewables integration while maintaining reliability. The DG technologies that Capstone Turbine manufactures provide affordable, clean, and resilient onsite power on par with the highest performing fuel cells on the market and may be particularly valuable in California, where energy costs are extremely high. We are part of the broader clean energy solution and are ready to be deployed now to meet the state’s growing demand while providing critical environmental, economic and social benefits.
CHATSWORTH, Calif., Aug. 10, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) the world’s leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, announced today that it recently received an order for a C1000 Signature Series microturbine and a C600 Signature Series microturbine for an oil and gas platform off the coast of California.
Regatta Solutions, Capstone’s distributor in California, secured the order, which is expected to be commissioned in December 2016. The customer chose Capstone microturbines for their price performance, proven reliability and experience in difficult offshore platform environments. Capstone microturbines also meet the local South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) Best Available Control Technology (BACT) emissions level requirements, which helps to streamline the air emissions permitting process.
“This order is reflective of the efficiency optimization initiatives we are starting to see from our oil and gas clients who are focused on reducing their operations costs while simultaneously protecting the environment,” said Steven Acevedo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Regatta Solutions.
The associated gas-fueled C1000S and C600S microturbines will be installed in a combined heat and power (CHP) application and operate using the onsite associated gas stream to relieve the flaring requirement for the platform. Hot water, produced from the microturbine exhaust, will provide heating for the production process to reduce additional energy needs. The microturbines will provide power to site loads, lowering operating costs for the end customer.
“Despite the prolonged two-year slump in the energy industry, oil and gas producers are starting to look for creative ways to reduce their operational costs and meet increasingly stringent flaring requirements, which is positive for our business,” said Darren Jamison, President and Chief Executive Officer at Capstone. “Capstone is able to leverage its demonstrated success in the oil and gas market and deliver low-cost, highly reliable energy solutions to oil and gas operations around the world,” added Mr. Jamison.
