(San Juan Capistrano, Ca) – March 7, 2013 – Regatta Solutions announces effective April 1, 2013 the leadership team addition of Mark Gilbreth as Chief Technology Officer for Regatta Solutions. He will be responsible for technical vision and leading all aspects of technology development aligning these with the strategic direction and growth objectives of the company.
Specific duties will include leading the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships as well as building and managing the application technology team. Mark will focus on understanding and ensuring organizational adherence to technical standards. Mr. Gilbreth will also evaluate new services and technology offerings that support existing customer requirements and leverage our strategic partnership with Capstone Turbine.
Mr. Gilbreth joins Regatta Solutions with 21 years of experience in engineering leadership and systems solutions experience in the power generation business. “ He brings a proven track record of organizational, technology and customer service leadership that we need at this stage of our company’s growth. Having him on our team will help us execute our growth strategy as one of Capstone Turbines premier distributors”, says Steve Acevedo, President and CEO of Regatta Solutions.
Prior to joining Regatta, Mark started his career at Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems developing control systems and user support software for Auxiliary Power Units on aircraft. Mark’s technical and leadership capabilities were quickly recognized and he was promoted to lead engineer for several next generation engine development programs.
Mark joined Capstone Turbine Corporation in 1995 with an entrepreneurial spirit looking to develop microturbine technology for the distributed generation market place. Mark holds over 19 US Patents in electronics architecture, controls systems, and application solutions for Capstone Turbine Corporation. During his tenure at Capstone, Mark drove critical technical and operational improvements serving as Manager of Systems and Controls, Director of Customer Service, Vice President of Operations, and Chief Technology Officer.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University. Mark has taken courses in Design for Six Sigma with the AIT Group and Product Marketing at UCLA Extension.
