(San Juan Capistrano, CA)—February 18, 2015—Regatta Solutions, Inc. the West Coast distributor of combined heat and power (CHP) solutions, announced that it has acquired Wedge Consulting, the Costa Mesa-based energy efficiency and strategic sustainability firm. The acquisition brings several services in-house to the clean technology company, including bench marking, retro-commissioning, and energy analysis for complex buildings such as laboratories and data centers.
Wedge Consulting was founded by energy engineer and US Navy veteran Andrea Marr. Previous projects include systems optimization at academic facilities, CPUC validation work, and energy systems component integration at several high technology companies. Regatta Solutions delivers combined heat and power (CHP) applications providing high energy efficiency with reduced operating expense for its clients. The addition of Wedge Consulting’s audit knowledge will give Regatta an expanded set of offerings that will help justify and qualify new CHP systems for incentives.
“The acquisition of Wedge Consulting represents one massive action that maximizes the pursuit of our company vision as the ‘go to’ leader in innovative, clean energy solutions,” says Steven Acevedo, President and CEO of Regatta Solutions.
Regatta Solutions also announced that Andrea Marr has joined the company as Vice President of Energy Services. Ms. Marr brings extensive experience in the energy sector. Prior to founding Wedge Consulting, she served as a program manager and commissioning engineer, overseeing the implementation of energy efficiency projects for clients including the California Institute of Technology. She has also designed and installed wind turbines and solar panels in rural communities in Nicaragua that lacked access to the national electric grid. As a member of the Truman National Security Project, Andrea writes and speaks about energy from the perspective of both an industry insider and as a veteran.
In 2005, Ms. Marr graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and subsequently served as the Gunnery Officer on two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and as a Nuclear Engineering Officer for a third deployment. She holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University where her final coursework focused on the success and failures of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building program. She was a 2013 recipient of the White House Champion of Change award for her work in energy as a veteran. Ms. Marr is a licensed professional engineer.
